Carla Golder - The Art of San Francisco

Carla Golder

My work explores the transcendence, transformation, and empowerment of Black women. Unity with nature is central to my drawings, reflecting how we occupy and reclaim space in the world. I aim to shift the way Black women are seen—honoring our divine connection to Mother Nature, who, like us, is too often disrespected and exploited. Through surreal, magical imagery, I envision a union between Black women and nature for mutual healing and protection. I surround my subjects with beauty, power, and grace to convey the reverence both deserve.
