Leyla Nobatova

My work moves between photography and painting, blending captured moments with intuitive, abstract mark-making. Shaped by my upbringing in Ashgabat and my years in San Francisco, these pieces connect through their relationship to the city. The photographs ground the work in San Francisco’s landscapes, while the watercolor and ink pieces offer a more fluid, emotional response to its rhythm and atmosphere. Together, they reflect both the city I see around me and the internal impressions it leaves behind.
