Tona Pearce Myers - The Art of San Francisco

Silvia Poloto

My work is an invitation to feel. Rooted in my experience as a woman, immigrant, widow, and mother, it begins with personal reflection but moves toward a universal connection. The things that define me are not boundaries—they are catalysts. Through them, I seek to illuminate the shared threads of the human condition. I am drawn to the purpose of pain, the structure of sorrow, the rapture of love, the joy of friendship, and the tenderness of self-discovery. I explore elegance, simplicity, and beauty as pathways to meaning. Like many artists before me, I affirm the existence of beauty itself and the possibility of human connection. My work is driven by constant evolution and a deliberate rejection of predictability. Each new series shifts in color, material, and content, reflecting my refusal to settle into repetition. This process of continual transformation keeps my practice alive—an ever-changing journey through emotion, form, and the shared language of being human.
